16 year old boy to get sex change operation

I know this sounds like a hoax, or a tale from a trashy tabloid, but it is true. A 16 year old boy is getting the sex change operation. He has been getting hormone therapy since age 12. Tim will now be known as Kim.

This story reportedly appeared in "The Age" (Melbourne, Australia) on 29 January 2007 ... so one might be forgiven for suspecting it is a hoax.
